Discipleship Process

When you hear the word discipleship in most churches the idea of a program, ministry, or meeting comes to mind. In the New Testament church a huge emphasis was placed on the discipleship of the followers of Christ. And it should have been. Remember the Great Commisssion? Jesus commanded us to "make disciples."

To begin that process, you have to figure out a few things. Like, what does the disciple look like now and what should he/she look like as they grow to become like Christ? There is no perfect way or best way to do this. At Perimeter Pointe, we use something called the Discipleship Profile. It's a list of 30 Core Competencies that every mature follower of Christ should be established and equipped in. You can view our Profile here. We don't use it in a legalistic way--rather as a guide to how we can grow!

How to Get Them There?

Now the hard part--how do we get there?! At Perimeter Pointe is is a high value that we keep this process simple. We want to make it doable--something that every follower of Christ can do. We want the person who has been a Christian for 30 years, the brand new believer, the newly married, the high schooler, the parent, and even the elementary child to be able to follow and commit to this process! Check out the process on the right side of this page.
